Chennai Company Builds Venutian, a Self-Compiling Programming Language

A company in Chennai is creating a new programming language called Venutian.

A programming language is a way for people to tell computers what to do.

The company is building Venutian and its compiler from the beginning.

It wants Venutian to eventually help compile its own compiler.

The language is intended to be easy to use while also working quickly.

The company says some internal tests made it much faster than Python.

Those results still need to be checked by independent testers.

The project is also meant to help India build more of its own basic technology tools.
