Chirag Paswan Questions Delhi Security Clampdown Before Youth Protest

A group called the Cockroach Janta Party planned a protest in Delhi for Saturday.

Before it, train services were cancelled, some Metro stations were closed and many security personnel were deployed.

Union minister Chirag Paswan questioned whether these steps could stop young people from taking part.

He said young people should be listened to and that people should talk to find a positive solution.

At the same time, he criticised the Congress-led Opposition’s protests against the chief election commissioner.

He said those protests were politically motivated.

Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the BJP’s recent bypoll wins as a sign of support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The article also reports that government strategists viewed the protest campaign as having limited public traction.
