Allahabad HC Rejects Shiksha Mitras’ Plea for Special TET 2026
Some Shiksha Mitras asked the Allahabad High Court to let them take a special teacher test in 2026.
The court dismissed their petitions.
It said being allowed to take the regular TET does not automatically qualify them for the special test.
The court also said Shiksha Mitras and the serving teachers covered by the test have different legal status.
The special test is for teachers already working in government schools who need to meet the TET requirement.
The Supreme Court directed serving teachers without the qualification to pass the special test within one year.
Teachers who do not pass may face consequences for continuing in their jobs.
Uttar Pradesh plans to hold the test through its Education Service Selection Commission.
