TB Screening Launched for 1,200 Inmates of Burai Jail
The Health Department is checking all 1,200 prisoners in Burail jail for a sickness called TB.
They've already checked about 700 people.
This is the first time they're doing this for TB; before, they only checked for other illnesses.
They're using special machines that give results quickly.
They want to find anyone with TB and help stop it from spreading.
This is important because people in jail live close together, making it easy for diseases to spread.
The screening will be finished soon.
UT Health Department launched a TB screening drive for 1,200 inmates of Model Jail, Burail.
697 inmates have been screened so far.
The screening includes chest X-rays and sputum sample collection.
Screening of all inmates will be completed by September 8.
The department is using portable AI-based X-ray machines.
