Shahrukh Pathan Granted Interim Bail for Mother's Ceremony
Shahrukh Pathan is a man who is in trouble for some bad things that happened during a big fight in Delhi in 2020.
He is in jail because he is accused of hurting people and pointing a gun at a police officer.
His father recently died, and his mother is in a special waiting period called Iddat, which is important in their religion.
This period ends on July 24, 2026, and Shahrukh wants to be with his family for the ceremony that marks the end of this period.
The court said he can leave jail for six days to be with his family, but he has to promise to come back to jail after that.
Some people who work for the government said he shouldn't be let out, but the court decided he could go.
Shahrukh Pathan granted 6-day interim bail to attend mother's concluding Iddat ceremony.
He is facing trial for rioting, attempt to murder, and assaulting a public servant during the 2020 North Delhi riots.
The bail is valid from July 21 to July 26, 2026, subject to a personal bond of Rs.20,000 with one surety.
The court directed him to surrender himself before jail authorities after the bail period expires.
Special Public Prosecutor opposed the bail application, stating no such ritual takes place after Iddat.
