World News Day is a global event about why trustworthy news is important.
It will take place on 28 September 2026.
About 1,000 newsrooms in more than 100 countries are expected to participate.
Good journalists check facts before sharing them.
They tell readers where information came from.
They also admit and correct mistakes.
This work can help people learn information that others may want to hide.
The event says everyone needs to be able to tell facts from false information.

Participating newsrooms will span more than 100 countries and dozens of languages.
