Delhi Startup Founder Arrested Over Client Dispute
Vaibhav Chawla, the co-founder of a Delhi-based startup called Wherehouse, was arrested at 1 am on Tuesday.
This happened because a client named Curio Lifestyle made a complaint against him.
The client owed Wherehouse money but instead of paying, they went to the police.
Chawla says the complaint was not serious and that his team was also detained without any documents.
Because of this and other problems, Chawla has decided to shut down his startup.
He said the last few months have been very difficult for him and his team.
Some people online think this shows how hard it is to run a business in India, especially if you don't have connections to protect you.
Vaibhav Chawla, co-founder of Wherehouse, was arrested at 1 am on Tuesday over a client's complaint.
The client, Curio Lifestyle, owed Wherehouse ₹1.92 lakh but filed a counterclaim instead of paying.
Chawla's team was detained without documents and released only after family members intervened.
Chawla announced the shutdown of Wherehouse due to operational chaos and capital constraints.
The incident has sparked discussions about the ease of doing business in India, with critics highlighting the misuse of police force for minor disputes.
