Mumbai's Public Transport Gets a Major Upgrade with New Metro Lines and App
Mumbai is getting a big upgrade to its public transport system!
By the end of 2025, four new Metro lines will start running.
Also, there's a new app called Mumbai One that will let you plan trips and pay for travel on trains, metros, and buses all in one place.
Part of the new metro lines, like the Red and Yellow lines, are expected to open soon, making travel easier for everyone.
Mumbai is set to upgrade its public transport with four new Metro lines by the end of 2025.
The Mumbai One app will integrate 11 services, including suburban rail, all Metro lines, Monorail, and buses.
Metro Line 9 (Red Line) will have a 4.5 km stretch open by December 2025 connecting Dahisar to Kashigaon.
A 5.4 km stretch of Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line) from Mandale to Diamond Garden is expected to open by the end of 2025.
A 11.57 km stretch of Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) connecting Cuffe Parade to Aarey is expected to open by August 2025.
