Goa Considers Competitive Bidding for Power Projects
Imagine Goa needs to build new power projects.
Instead of doing it the old way, they might try something new called TBCB.
It's like a competition where companies bid on how much it will cost to build the project.
The company that offers the best deal gets to build it using their own money.
They then get paid back over time through electricity rates.
This new approach is being considered for projects costing over 500 crore rupees.
They currently have three smaller projects in the pipeline for substations.
Goa may adopt tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) for large power projects.
TBCB is different from the traditional tendering process.
The mandate to consider TBCB comes from the Centre.
Goa has three substation projects in the pipeline.
The first project is planned to be taken up in 6-8 months.
