NTR Collector Promotes Elder Well-being Programs and Laughing Clubs
The boss of NTR district, Collector Dr. Lakshmisha, wants to make sure older people are happy and taken care of.
He told everyone to start fun 'laughing clubs' in every village, where people can go to laugh together.
He also said that each month, grown-ups should visit and talk with the older folks in their neighborhoods to see how they are doing.
He believes that if we are kind to our elders, our own children will be kind to us when we are old.
There’s a special law to help parents and older people, and the collector wants to make sure it’s followed.
They are also trying a new program called 'Gen Alpha' to have older people share their life stories with young kids in schools.
So far, they've handled most of the problems brought to them by elders and are working on the rest.
NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha ordered the establishment of laughing clubs in every village.
Monthly interactions with senior citizens are to be organized at village and ward secretariat levels.
The 'Gen Alpha' initiative aims to connect seniors with children for knowledge and values sharing.
A total of 433 claims were received by tribunals, with 395 already settled.
Officials from Revenue, Police, and Welfare departments are directed to collaborate for robust implementation of elder welfare laws.
