Abhishek Sharma Chases Suryakumar’s Fastest 2,000-Run T20I Record
Abhishek Sharma is close to scoring 2,000 runs in T20 international cricket.
He needs 53 more runs to reach that total.
Suryakumar Yadav holds the record for reaching 2,000 runs in the fewest balls, with 1,164.
Sharma could break it if he scores those runs within 166 balls.
He has a chance to do that when India play West Indies in Ranchi on Friday.
India won the first game and are trying to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
The report says dew could make it harder for bowlers in the evening.
Ranchi fans are also looking forward to seeing local player Ishan Kishan.
Abhishek Sharma needs 53 runs to reach 2,000 T20I runs, and could challenge Suryakumar Yadav’s record for reaching the mark in 1,164 balls.
Sharma has scored 1,947 T20I runs from 997 balls; he would need to score the next 53 within 166 deliveries to break the record.
India face West Indies in the second match of their five-game T20I series on Friday in Ranchi, after winning the opener by eight wickets.
The report says dew could make bowling difficult later in the evening and increase the importance of the toss.
Local interest also centers on Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who received a warm welcome in Ranchi.
