Top Maoist Leaders Surrender After Decades, Join Mainstream
Two very important leaders from a group called CPI-Maoist, named Chandranna and Prabhath, have decided to stop being rebels and join regular life.
They had been hiding and working for this group for more than 40 years!
They were once students who believed in certain ideas and became leaders in a fight.
Now, they say they are too old and tired, and maybe the group isn't as strong as it used to be.
They also said they still believe in helping people, but they want to do it in a way everyone can see, not from hiding.
The police in Telangana are welcoming them back and have offered money and help to start new lives.
This is part of a bigger effort to get rebels to surrender.
Two senior CPI (Maoist) leaders, Pulluri Prasad Rao (Chandranna) and Bandi Prakash (Prabhath), surrendered after over 40 years underground.
Both leaders cited health issues, organizational splits, and evolving state conditions as reasons for their decision.
Chandranna was a Central Committee Member, and Prabhath was a State Committee Member.
The Telangana Police are offering rehabilitation, including cash rewards, for surrendered Maoists.
The leaders expressed a desire to continue working for the people in public life, adhering to their ideology.
