Mizoram's Project BLOOM Wins National Recognition for Healthcare
In Mizoram, India, a project called 'Project BLOOM' is helping mothers and children stay healthy.
It's like a special program in a place with tough roads and not much internet.
The project provides transport for pregnant women, even to the hospital if they need it.
They have set up temporary homes for mothers-to-be near the delivery place.
They are also giving out food to help the children and mothers.
Because of this project, more babies are being born in hospitals, and more mothers are getting help early in their pregnancies.
It's all working together to make the community stronger and healthier.
Mizoram's Lunglei district administration's 'Project BLOOM' received national recognition.
The project was presented at the NITI Aayog's 'Best Practices Seminar' in New Delhi.
'Project BLOOM', launched in June 2025, addresses maternal and child health in the Lungsen block.
The project includes initiatives like 'Safe Womb Wheels' and temporary homestays for expectant mothers.
Significant improvements in institutional deliveries, early ANC registration, and supplementary nutrition have been observed.
