Union Minister Ramdas Athawale Addresses Mahar Watan Land Row Involving Parth Pawar
There's a big issue about some special government land in Pune that was supposed to be sold.
This land, called Mahar Watan land, has special rules to protect it.
A company connected to Parth Pawar was trying to buy this land for much less than it's worth, and they only paid a tiny amount of stamp duty, like $5, which is not normal for such a big deal.
Even though the sale didn't go through, the government is looking into how the paperwork was done.
A government minister, Ramdas Athawale, said that the law is very important and if anyone broke it, they will face action.
He also said that such land can't be sold easily without permission.
Another politician, Rohit Pawar, is asking why this case is being investigated so quickly while other corruption cases aren't getting the same attention.
The government is trying to make sure that rules are followed and that these protected lands are not misused.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale stated that Mahar Watan land is protected by law and cannot be transferred without proper consent and government permission.
An inquiry has been ordered by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis into the alleged irregular transfer of 43 acres of government-owned land in Pune, linked to Parth Pawar's company.
The land was reportedly being transferred for Rs 300 crore, while its market valuation was over Rs 1,800 crore, with only Rs 500 paid as stamp duty.
Athawale emphasized that the law is paramount and action will be taken if any wrongdoing is found, cautioning against politicizing the matter.
NCP MLA Rohit Pawar questioned the swiftness of the inquiry in this case, demanding similar action on other alleged corruption cases.

Government and Official Stance
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale emphasized that Mahar Watan land is legally protected and requires rightful owner consent and state government permission for transfer. He stated that the law will take its course if wrongdoing is found and cautioned against politicizing the issue, awaiting the investigation's outcome.
Criticism and Skepticism
NCP MLA Rohit Pawar questioned the speed of the inquiry in this specific case, suggesting selective action and demanding similar swiftness in investigating other alleged corruption cases, such as a Rs 5,000-crore CIDCO corruption case.
Application of Atrocities Act
Government and Official Stance
Athawale stated that the application of the Atrocities Act against Parth Pawar would depend on whether a formal complaint is filed by those affected, alleging they were cheated.
Criticism and Skepticism
Rohit Pawar's questioning of selective action implies a belief that the government's approach might be politically motivated rather than purely legal.
Deal Irregularities and Inquiry
Government and Official Stance
An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged land transfer involving Parth Pawar's company, Amadea Developers, for a government-owned plot in Koregaon, Pune. The deal involved a nominal stamp duty payment of Rs 500, significantly lower than standard norms for land valued at over Rs 1,800 crore. The inquiry committee includes high-ranking revenue and registration officials.
