Gold and Silver Prices Drop Globally
Gold and silver prices went down on Thursday because people were selling their gold and silver to make a profit.
The US dollar got stronger, and the interest rates on US bonds went up, which made gold and silver more expensive for people in other countries.
This made people less interested in buying gold and silver.
In India, gold prices also went down a lot, and silver prices went down even more.
Experts are watching to see what happens next.
People are waiting to see what happens with the US dollar and bond yields to see if gold and silver prices will go up or down.
Gold prices dropped in the domestic futures market on Thursday due to profit-taking and a rise in the US dollar and bond yields.
MCX gold February futures were down 1.15% at ₹136,443 per 10 grams, while MCX silver March futures were down 5.37% at ₹237,800 per kg.
Globally, gold prices fell by 1% to $4,407 per troy ounce, and silver prices fell as much as 4.5% to $74.47 per ounce.
A stronger dollar makes gold and silver more expensive for overseas buyers, and higher bond yields increase the opportunity cost of holding these metals.
Analysts warn of further volatility in silver prices and suggest that gold prices could accelerate momentum toward ₹1,40,000–₹1,42,000 if they break out above ₹1,38,000.
