Trent Rockets Win Inaugural Hundred Helix After Teams Top Tables
There is a big cricket competition called The Hundred, where teams play short matches.
Each club has two teams: one for men and one for women.
This year, the competition added a brand-new trophy called the Hundred Helix.
The Helix is special because it combines how well a club's men's team AND women's team do together.
The Trent Rockets club won this new trophy, and they are the very first team ever to win it.
Their men's team finished first in its league after winning 13 out of 16 games.
Their women's team also finished first in its league.
Because both teams did so well, they both went straight to their finals.
Their combined scores were so high that no other club could catch up.
That is how the Trent Rockets won the very first Hundred Helix.
Trent Rockets became the inaugural winners of the Hundred Helix, a new trophy combining the performances of the men's and women's teams in The Hundred.
Both the Rockets' men's and women's teams finished at the top of their respective league tables and qualified directly for their finals.
The men's team won 13 of their 16 matches during the league stage.
Their position at the top of the combined standings gave Trent Rockets an unassailable lead over the other franchises.
The Hundred Helix was introduced to recognize the franchise that performs best across both the men's and women's competitions during the season.
