22 Maoists Surrender in Odisha
In Odisha, 22 Maoists gave up their weapons and joined the mainstream.
They handed over nine guns, lots of bullets, explosives, and other dangerous items.
The government will give them money and help them start new lives.
The Maoists include important leaders and members from different areas.
The Odisha government has a special policy to help these people get jobs, houses, and other support.
This is a big step towards making Odisha safer and more peaceful.
22 Maoists, including a Divisional Committee Member and six Area Committee Members, surrendered in Odisha's Malkangiri district.
They handed over nine firearms, 150 live rounds of ammunition, 20 kg of explosives, 13 IEDs, and other items.
The Odisha government's revised surrender policy offers higher rewards than neighboring Chhattisgarh.
Surrendered cadres will receive a total reward of Rs 1,84,25,000, interim relief, and various benefits including housing, marriage incentives, and skill development programs.
The surrender is seen as a significant blow to the Maoist outfit and a step towards making southern Odisha free from Naxal violence.
