Man Gets Double Life Sentence for Rape Near Coimbatore
A man was sentenced to double life in prison for raping an elderly woman in Coimbatore.
The man, 42, attacked a 62-year-old woman in 2022 while she was gathering food for her goats.
He was also found guilty of causing grievous hurt, criminal intimidation, and violating the SC/ST Act.
The woman lost teeth and suffered injuries.
The court ordered him to serve 16 years of imprisonment before the double life sentence, and imposed a fine.
