UN: Over 122 Million Forcibly Displaced Worldwide
The UN says over 122 million people have been forced from their homes due to violence and war.
This is almost double the number from ten years ago.
Most displaced people stay in nearby countries, not far away ones like the United States or Europe.
The conflict in Sudan has caused the largest displacement crisis, bigger than the one in Syria.
Humanitarian aid groups, that help these people, are getting less money from countries like the US.
But, there is some good news: nearly 2 million Syrians have been able to go back home.
The number of people forcibly displaced worldwide has surpassed 122 million.
This represents a near-doubling in the last decade, according to the UNHCR.
Internally displaced people increased by over 9% to 73.5 million by the end of the previous year.
Sudan now has the largest displacement crisis globally, surpassing Syria.
Humanitarian groups are facing budget cuts from Western donors, including the United States.
