MCC Puts New Pune Civic Decisions Under Closer Scrutiny

The Model Code of Conduct is a set of election rules that began in Maharashtra.

It started when elections for five Legislative Council seats were announced.

Pune’s existing civic projects do not have to stop automatically.

The city commissioner said most PMC works are essential and can continue.

However, new tenders, approvals and transfers of money may need closer checking.

Projects that already have approvals or work orders may be treated differently from brand-new proposals.

Some Pimpri-Chinchwad projects could be delayed because they need new decisions.

Official vehicles and political signs linked to elected civic representatives have also been restricted.

These rules will matter until the election process ends.
