Puri Temple Approves New Ornaments for Suna Besha Ritual
The Puri temple plans to make a new set of ornaments for a special ceremony called Suna Besha.
During this ceremony, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra wear golden decorations.
The temple committee approved the plan at a meeting on Saturday.
The temple administration will pay for the work and may also accept donations.
Temple officials recorded the old ornaments with videos and 3D maps.
These records will help jewellers copy the designs and important details.
A technical committee will supervise the work and choose experienced jewellers.
Suna Besha happens five times each year.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee approved a new set of ornaments for the Suna Besha ritual.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration will fund the ornaments and seek donations from interested individuals and organisations.
Videography and 3D mapping of existing ornaments provide references for their designs, weights and religious significance.
A technical committee will select skilled jewellers and oversee the production process transparently.
Suna Besha is held five times annually, including once on the deities’ chariots.
