Apple Reportedly Moving Forward With Glass iPhone 20th Anniversary Redesign
Apple is a company that makes iPhones.
The iPhone is almost 20 years old now.
Apple wants to make a special new iPhone to celebrate its birthday.
The new iPhone would be made mostly of glass.
It would look very shiny and different.
At first, Apple tried to make an even glassier version.
That version was too hard to build, so Apple stopped working on it.
Putting the glass pieces together is very tricky.
Making enough of them for everyone is also hard.
But Apple has not given up on the glass idea, and it may still make a glass iPhone.
Apple has not cancelled its glass-focused iPhone redesign intended for the device's 20th anniversary, according to reports.
A more ambitious, glass-heavy concept explored through Apple's design studio was eventually dropped.
Manufacturing proved the biggest challenge, including connecting glass panels and producing the design at high volumes.
Apple could still move forward with a version of the original glass-focused concept.
The iPhone first debuted in 2007, and Apple is seeking a visually striking design to mark two decades of the device.
