Foundation Pitches Humanoid Robots for Border Patrol and War

Sankaet Pathak leads a company called Foundation that makes humanoid robots.

He says the robots are being built for war and military work, not just ordinary jobs.

The company wants them to help watch the US-Mexico border.

The robots could travel across difficult ground and look for people.

They might alert human officers when they see a possible border crossing.

Foundation has also reportedly sent two robots to the Russia-Ukraine front lines for reconnaissance.

Pathak says the robots could be armed if a government requested it, but they would not make enforcement decisions on their own soon.

The robots still face problems such as needing better protection from water, dust, and harsh outdoor conditions.

DHS says it does not currently have a formal operational agreement or active prime contract with Foundation.
