Rajasthan, Punjab Discuss Firozpur Feeder Project
The Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Punjab are working together on a project to rebuild a canal called the Firozpur Feeder.
This canal is important because it helps bring water to farms in Rajasthan.
The project will make the canal bigger so it can carry more water, which helps stop excess water from going to Pakistan.
Punjab and Rajasthan will share the cost, with Punjab paying more.
The project is expected to be done in 2027 and will help irrigate a large area of farmland in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan and Punjab CMs discussed the Firozpur Feeder Reconstruction Project.
The ₹647.62 crore project aims to strengthen the Gang Canal system in Rajasthan.
Punjab will contribute ₹379.12 crore and Rajasthan ₹268.50 crore.
The project will increase the Firozpur Feeder's capacity, benefiting Rajasthan.
