Mehli Mistry Rejects TEDT Funding for Tata Legal Dispute

Mehli Mistry is a trustee of a Tata charitable education trust.

He said this trust should not pay lawyers for a fight involving Tata Trusts and Tata Sons.

He believes the education trust is separate because it does not own shares in Tata Sons.

The larger fight is about whether N Chandrasekaran should continue as Tata Sons chairman.

Tata Sons’ board voted to give him another five-year term.

Noel Tata voted against that decision.

Tata Trusts says the vote did not follow the company’s rules.

Mistry asked that his objection be formally recorded at the trust’s next meeting.
