Abhishek Banerjee Aide Remanded in Land Fraud Case

Sumit Roy is an aide to Abhishek Banerjee.

Police arrested him in an alleged land fraud case.

A court ordered that he remain in police custody for eight days.

Investigators say government land may have been illegally changed into private property.

They also allege that false documents were made.

The properties were then allegedly sold at high prices.

The investigation followed the arrest and questioning of former Trinamool MLA Sujay Hazra.

These are allegations, and the court has not been described as finding Roy guilty.
