ICE Hires 12,000 Officers in Record Expansion
ICE, which is a part of the US government, has hired a lot of new officers and agents.
They wanted to hire 10,000 people, but they actually hired 12,000.
This means they now have 22,000 people working for them, which is a big increase.
They got a lot of applications, over 220,000, and were able to train and send these new officers out quickly.
The new officers are helping with things like arrests and investigations.
The government passed a law to help them hire more people faster.
ICE says this is the biggest hiring effort in their history and will help them do more work.
ICE hired 12,000 officers and agents in less than a year, exceeding their target of 10,000.
Total manpower increased from 10,000 to 22,000, marking a 120% increase.
Over 220,000 applications were received during the recruitment campaign.
Newly recruited officers have been deployed nationwide to support enforcement operations.
The recruitment drive was described as the most successful in ICE's history.
