At least 30 killed in Myanmar hospital airstrike
A very sad event happened in Myanmar.
Soldiers from the military government, called the junta, bombed a big hospital in the town of Mrauk-U.
At least 30 people were killed, and more than 70 were hurt.
The hospital was very full of patients because other hospitals in the area are not working right now.
The hospital is now destroyed, with a broken roof and walls.
People are saying the junta is using more and more airplane attacks in the area.
This has been happening since the military took over the government in 2021.
A group called the Arakan Army, which is fighting the junta, controls the area where the hospital is.
They say there hasn't been recent fighting there, so it's not clear why the hospital was attacked.
At least 30 people were killed and more than 70 injured in an airstrike on Mrauk-U General Hospital in Myanmar's Rakhine state on December 11.
The hospital, which had 300 beds, was completely destroyed in the attack, with a collapsed roof and shattered structure.
The airstrike occurred in an area controlled by the Arakan Army, which has been fighting the ruling junta since a 2021 coup.
The junta has significantly increased its use of airstrikes in 2024, with 2,165 recorded from January to late November.
The Arakan Army controls 14 of 17 townships in Rakhine state, pushing the military out of these areas since a ceasefire breakdown in 2023.
