Delhi to allow third-party fire audits
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, announced that Delhi will soon allow a third-party audit for fire licences.
This means that instead of the government checking if a building is safe from fire, a private company can do the check.
This will make it easier for hotels and restaurants to get their licences.
The government also said that all hotels, restaurants, and clubs will be inspected to make sure they are safe.
The Chief Minister also advised these places to install mist fogging systems on their rooftops to help reduce air pollution and use less water.
She said that the previous government had not dealt with important issues like giving out licences, but her government is now working on them quickly.
She also warned that places that do not have the right fire safety equipment or do not follow the rules will be punished.
Delhi will soon permit a third-party audit for fire licences to ease the process for hoteliers and restaurant owners.
A single-window licensing regime will be implemented for hotels and restaurants to streamline the issuance of other licences.
The fire department has been directed to inspect restaurants, hotels, and clubs to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
Establishments lacking fire safety equipment or violating standards will face appropriate action.
Hoteliers and restaurant owners are advised to install mist fogging systems to help reduce air pollution and lower water consumption.
