TTD Lowers Tender Turnover Limits to Boost Hospital Supply Bidders
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, a big trust that runs hospitals in Tirupati, decided to make it easier for companies to sell medicines and supplies to its hospitals.
They lowered the money a company must make each year to be allowed to bid.
Now, companies that make medicines need to make at least Rs 25 crore, and those that make other supplies need to make Rs 15 crore.
Distributors and importers only need to make Rs 10 crore.
This change should let more companies compete, which can help the hospitals get better prices and keep a steady supply of good medicines.
The trust board approved this on July 14, 2024, after a committee looked into the issue.
They also set up quality checks at three hospitals to make sure everything is safe and good.
TTD has lowered the minimum annual turnover requirement for suppliers of medicines and medical consumables to its hospitals.
The new thresholds drop from about Rs 100 crore to Rs 25 crore for medicines and injections, Rs 15 crore for other supplies, and Rs 10 crore for distributors and importers.
The change aims to boost competition, improve procurement efficiency, and ensure uninterrupted supply of quality products.
TTD will keep a multi‑vendor procurement system and create Quality Assessment Committees at BIRRD, SVIMS, and SPCHC.
The decision was approved by the TTD Trust board on July 14, 2024, through Resolution No. 134 after a committee review.
