PCMC To Compensate Pothole Accident Victims
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will now pay money to people who get hurt or die in accidents caused by potholes on city roads.
This is because the Bombay High Court told them to do it.
The compensation will start from 13th November 2025.
During this year's monsoon, over 6,000 potholes appeared, and even though the city tried to fix them, many are still there.
The PCMC will look at each case to see if they or someone else is responsible.
If a person is hurt, they can get between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2,50,000.
If someone dies, their family can get Rs 6,00,000.
People need to show proof of the accident to get the money.
PCMC will compensate victims of pothole-related accidents following Bombay High Court orders.
Compensation applies to accidents occurring from 13th November 2025 onwards.
Over 6,000 potholes appeared during this year's monsoon, with many still unfixed despite a deadline.
A committee chaired by the PCMC Commissioner will investigate complaints and determine compensation.
Injured victims can receive between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2,50,000, while legal heirs of deceased victims receive Rs 6,00,000.
