Diverse Q2 Earnings: Mixed Fortunes for Indian Companies
Several Indian companies recently shared how much money they made in the last three months.
Some companies, like those making drones (ideaforge) or gas (Adani Total Gas), made less profit than last year, even though they sold more things.
This happened because some of their costs went up.
Other companies did really well.
The cement company (Shree Cement) and a green energy company (Adani Green Energy) made much more profit and also sold more.
A finance company (M&M Finance) also saw a big jump in profits.
A farming company (DCM Shriram) almost tripled its profit!
However, an insurance company (Star Health) saw its profit drop significantly, even though it wrote more insurance policies.
One steel company (Jindal Steel) had results close to what experts predicted, with a slight drop in profit but higher sales.
Adani Total Gas reported an 11.9% drop in Q2 net profit despite a 19.6% rise in revenue.
Jindal Steel's Q2 net profit decreased by 25.9% year-on-year, but revenue and EBITDA exceeded estimates.
Adani Green Energy's Q2 profit rose 25%, driven by higher energy sales and efficiency, with flat revenue.
Shree Cement's Q2 net profit nearly tripled year-on-year, surpassing revenue estimates but falling short of profit expectations.
ideaforge Technology's Q2 net profit increased by 41.3%, while EBITDA declined by 28.9%.
DCM Shriram announced a 151% YoY jump in Q2 consolidated net profit and a 70.8% increase in EBITDA.
Star Health's Q2 net profit fell 50.7% YoY, although Gross Premium Written saw a marginal increase.
M&M Finance reported a 45% rise in Q2 net profit and a 14.6% growth in Net Interest Income.
