Masik Karthigai 2025: Significance, Puja and Auspicious Day

Masik Karthigai is a special day in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, that happens every month.

It's a time to celebrate Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan.

Legend says Lord Shiva made six tiny lights that grew into Lord Murugan, who is like a god of war.

On this day, people light many oil lamps in their homes and streets to get rid of bad things like darkness and ignorance.

It's a very old festival for Tamil people.

To celebrate, people wake up early, clean their homes, and can go to a temple or pray at home.

They offer flowers and special foods, and chant prayers for Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan.
