Indra Kumar, Ashok Thakeria Face Alleged Dhamaal Rights Fraud Case
Police in Mumbai are investigating a complaint about the movie Dhamaal.
A distributor says it paid Rs 1.5 crore for the movie’s worldwide and digital rights in 2019.
The distributor says the same rights had already been sold to Shemaroo Entertainment Limited in 2015.
The complaint names filmmaker Indra Kumar and producer Ashok Thakeria.
Their production company, Maruti International, is also named in the allegations.
The distributor says several planned digital deals were canceled.
It says this caused losses of several crores of rupees.
The police have registered a case and started investigating.
The allegations have not been established in court.
