District Collector Orders Transparent, Hassle-Free Cotton Procurement Arrangements

District Collector Orders Transparent, Hassle-Free Cotton Procurement Arrangements

District Collector Rajarshi Shah wants cotton buying to be fair and easy for farmers.

Cotton procurement is expected to begin in the second week of October.

Officials will register ginning mills and connect farmers with the correct mills using an app.

Buying centers should have water, toilets, shade and weighing equipment.

Staff will receive training to measure cotton moisture correctly.

Farmers, village officers and graders will help monitor the process.

Roads used to transport cotton will be checked and repaired when needed.

CCTV cameras and fire-safety equipment must work at ginning mills.

Officials also want farmers to sell directly without small traders or middlemen.
