IMF Projects India as Fastest-Growing Major Economy
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says India will keep growing faster than any other big country in the next two years.
They think India's economy will grow by 7.3% in 2025, then 6.4% in 2026 and 2027.
This is much better than the rest of the world, which is expected to grow by about 3.3% in 2025 and 2026, and then a bit less in 2027.
The US will grow by 2.4% in 2026, and China by 4.5%.
The IMF also says that even though there are problems with trade and politics, the world economy is doing okay because of new technology like artificial intelligence (AI).
They warn that AI could also cause problems if it doesn't work as well as people hope.
Overall, the IMF thinks the world economy is strong but needs to be careful about these risks.
India is projected to grow by 7.3% in 2025, 6.4% in 2026, and 6.4% in 2027, making it the fastest-growing major economy.
Global economic growth is expected to be 3.3% in 2025 and 2026, and 3.2% in 2027.
The US economy is projected to grow by 2.4% in 2026, while China's growth is expected to be 4.5% in 2026.
The IMF highlights that AI investment is driving economic growth, particularly in advanced economies like the US.
Global inflation is projected to decline from 4.1% in 2025 to 3.8% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027.
