Controversy Erupts Over Muslim Coordinator for Hindu Festival
In Gwalior, India, a Hindu festival called Shri Ram Barat is about to happen.
Some people were upset when they found out a Muslim man named Guddu Warsi was helping to organize it.
They said that only Hindus should be in charge of Hindu festivals.
Because of the complaints, the organizers removed Guddu Warsi from his role.
Guddu Warsi said he was okay with this and will still participate in the festival.
However, the Hindu groups said they would take action if he wasn't removed.
The festival is still going ahead as planned.
Hindu organizations objected to the appointment of a Muslim as a coordinator for the Ram Barat procession in Gwalior.
Guddu Warsi, a BJP Minority Morcha leader, was initially appointed as a coordinator.
Protests and social media campaigns followed the appointment.
Under pressure, Warsi was removed from the position by the former MLA.
Despite the controversy, the Ram Barat procession is still scheduled to proceed.
