Karnataka Introduces Separate B&B Category Under New Tourism Policy

The Karnataka government has created a new category for Bed & Breakfast (B&B) establishments, separate from homestays.

This change is part of a new tourism policy aimed at making the rules clearer and improving the quality of tourist accommodations.

Homestays are places where the owner or their family lives and offers up to six rooms for guests.

B&Bs, on the other hand, are managed by someone who does not live there and can have up to six rooms or 12 beds.

The government wants to make it easier for tourists to choose between these two types of places and to ensure that both types of accommodations follow safety rules.

This new policy is expected to help the tourism industry grow and provide better places for visitors to stay.
