Indore Division Faces Rise in Child Mortality
In the Indore division, many young children have sadly passed away recently.
From April to June 2025, over 1,400 children under five died across eight areas.
This happened out of more than 51,000 babies born.
Some areas had much higher death rates than usual, with some hospitals seeing too many deaths.
Doctors think the main reasons are poor nutrition, not enough iron, lack of good care for mothers, infections, and not enough vaccinations.
Concerned people are asking for better food programs, more vaccinations, and improved healthcare to help protect children in the region.
Indore division reported 1,426 deaths of children under five between April 1 and June 30, 2025.
These deaths occurred out of 51,200 live births across eight districts.
Dhar, Khargone, Jhabua, Khandwa, and Indore reported the highest mortality figures.
Health experts attribute deaths to malnutrition, anemia, poor maternal care, and low immunization.
Public health activists are calling for urgent improvements in healthcare.
