Bengaluru Rail Division, SBI Sign MoU for Digital Penalty Payments
Bengaluru railway officials and State Bank of India signed an agreement to make penalty payments digital.
The agreement was signed on 1 October 2026.
People penalised under the Jan Vishwas Act on railway premises can pay using a debit card, credit card or UPI.
They will use PoS terminals for these payments.
The new option is meant to make paying easier and reduce the need for cash.
Officials said digital payments can also support transparency and accountability.
Since June 2026, railway protection staff recorded cases for littering, trespassing and parking violations.
They collected penalties for those cases.
