Punjab Governor Leads Universities in Nationwide Anti-Drug Campaign
The governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, met with university leaders to talk about a new anti‑drug program.
He asked the universities to get students to sign an online pledge and get certificates.
Each university must pick a person to lead the effort and set goals for how many students will join.
The program will be shown on websites, social media, and in school events.
The main event will happen on August 2, when the Prime Minister will speak online.
The goal is to make Punjab and India drug‑free by getting students, teachers, and volunteers involved.
Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria chaired a meeting with university vice‑chancellors to review the "MY Bharat Yuva Connect, Nasha Mukt Abhiyan" anti‑drug campaign.
He directed universities to register students on the MY Bharat portal, take the e‑pledge, and download certificates before the main event on August 2.
Each university must appoint a nodal officer, set target‑based volunteer enrolment, and monitor pledge registration.
The campaign will be promoted through websites, social media, digital screens, seminars, rallies, competitions, and regular reporting on the portal.
The governor emphasized that the initiative should involve all constituent and affiliated colleges, not just university headquarters, to build a drug‑free society.
