Franklin Templeton India to Merge European Fund with US Scheme
Imagine a company that helps people invest money.
This company has two different funds, one that invests in Europe and another in the United States.
Because things aren't going so well in Europe, the company has decided to combine the European fund with the US fund.
This means that if you have money in the European fund, it will automatically become money in the US fund.
You won't be able to put new money into the European fund starting in May.
If you don't like this change, you can take your money out of the European fund before the switch happens.
This change is expected to be complete by the end of June.
Franklin Templeton India will merge its European Opportunities Fund into its US Opportunities Fund by June 30, 2025.
The merger is due to sluggish European economic conditions and global shifts affecting European funds.
New investments in the European fund will cease from May 29, 2025, although existing SIPs and STPs will continue.
Investors in the European fund will receive units in the US Opportunities Fund proportionally.
Investors can exit the European fund before the merger without incurring an exit load if they are uncomfortable.
