Earthquakes strike Mexico-Guatemala, Iran, and California
There were three earthquakes in different places recently.
One was near the Mexico-Guatemala border and was quite strong, measuring 5.8 in magnitude.
It happened deep underground, about 160 km down.
Another earthquake happened in central Iran, near a city called Behabad.
It was a bit smaller, measuring 5.1.
Iran has many earthquakes because it sits on big cracks in the Earth's surface.
Earlier this week, there was also a smaller earthquake in Northern California, near a town called Gilroy.
It measured 4.0 and was not very deep.
People are being told to be careful and know what to do if there's an earthquake, like dropping to the ground, covering their heads, and holding on.
Scientists say more big earthquakes could happen in the future, so it's important to be prepared.
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the Mexico-Guatemala border at a depth of 160 km.
No initial reports of injuries or damage have been shared.
Guatemala is earthquake-prone due to tectonic plate movements and major fault systems.
A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit central Iran near the city of Behabad in Yazd province.
A magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred in Northern California, 8 km east of Gilroy at a depth of 2.7 km.
