Delhi HC Orders Disability Compensation for Retired BSF Officer
A retired soldier who was hurt in a bomb blast many years ago wasn't getting the money he deserved.
The injury caused hearing loss.
The Delhi High Court stepped in and said the government needs to pay him extra money, called disability compensation, because the injury happened while he was serving the country.
The court also said the government should pay interest.
This money is meant to help the officer because his hearing was damaged while on duty.
The court criticized the government for making him wait so long to get the money.
Delhi High Court ordered disability compensation for a retired BSF officer.
The officer sustained hearing loss in a 2001 IED blast in Jammu and Kashmir.
The court found the officer's 42% hearing impairment directly attributable to the blast.
