Karnataka MLA's daughter booked for alleged assault on woman cop
A woman named Aishwarya went to a temple with her two children on a special festival day.
The temple was very crowded, with thousands of people waiting in line to pray.
A police officer named Savitha was there to keep people safe and told Aishwarya she had to wait like everyone else.
Aishwarya wanted to go straight into the inner part of the temple without waiting.
When the officer said no, Aishwarya got very angry.
The police say Aishwarya hit the officer, said rude words, and made threats, so an official police case was opened.
Aishwarya says the officer was also mean to her, so she made her own complaint.
The police are now looking into both stories.
Aishwarya's father is an important politician, but he said he will not interfere and that his daughter should have calmed down.
The lesson is that everyone should wait their turn, and no one should hurt others, even when they are upset.
Aishwarya Gowda, daughter of Karnataka BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, was booked after allegedly assaulting, abusing, and threatening woman police sub-inspector Savitha B Patil during a temple entry dispute.
The incident occurred on August 12, 2026 (Wednesday) during Bhima Amavasya celebrations at the Maramma temple in Arati Ukkada village (Ukkada), Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, Karnataka.
Aishwarya allegedly sought direct entry into the sanctum sanctorum; when PSI Savitha asked her to wait due to the heavy rush, she identified herself as an MLA's daughter and questioned why she was being stopped.
The dispute escalated after Inspector Lakshmi was allowed inside the sanctum; Aishwarya allegedly slapped Patil, and an FIR was registered at Kyathanahalli police station under BNS sections 132, 115(2), 352, and 351(2).
Aishwarya filed a counter-complaint alleging the PSI abused her, and Mandya SP V. J. Shobharani said both complaints are being investigated; MLA Suresh Gowda apologised, said he would not interfere, and that his daughter should have shown restraint.
