Tamil Nadu Temples Ban Mobile Phones to Protect Sacred Spaces

Tamil Nadu Temples Ban Mobile Phones to Protect Sacred Spaces

Tamil Nadu has stopped people from carrying mobile phones into 52 major temples.

The rule began on September 1.

People cannot take selfies, make reels or casually photograph inside these temples.

Officials say phones can disturb people who are praying.

They also want to protect the peaceful and traditional feeling of the temples.

Visitors can leave their phones at special counters or in lockers.

The service costs at least Rs.

5 per phone.

Some people are waiting in long lines, so temples may add more counters.
