The Enforcement Directorate is investigating an alleged scheme involving public money.

It says about Rs 645 crore was taken from government-related accounts.

Investigators searched 14 places in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

The agency says money moved through accounts linked to jewellers and their businesses.

It alleges these transfers were made to look like ordinary business payments.

The investigation also involves government employees and a bank fraud case.

The ED says four people have been arrested and assets worth about Rs 211 crore have been attached, seized or frozen.
