World Bank Approves $600 mn for UP, Haryana Air Quality

The World Bank has given $600 million to Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to help make the air cleaner.

In Uttar Pradesh, the money will be used to make transport, farming, and industries less polluting.

It will also help 3.9 million families cook with cleaner fuel and introduce electric vehicles like buses and three-wheelers in cities like Lucknow and Kanpur.

In Haryana, the funds will improve systems to measure air pollution and support cleaner transport and farming practices.

Both projects aim to reduce pollution and make life better for people in these states.

The Haryana project, specifically, will be led by a special team called ARJUN, which will ensure that the plans are carried out smoothly and monitored in real-time.
