CPM Admits Hindutva Influence in Kerala Election Debacle
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has admitted that it was not strong enough to fight against the Hindu nationalist ideas of the BJP and RSS in the 2026 Kerala elections.
The party said this was a bigger problem than just losing the election.
They also said that the BJP's growth in Kerala is a warning that Hindu nationalist ideas are becoming more popular in a state that was once a stronghold of the Left.
The CPM also admitted that some of their actions, like allowing a message from a Hindu nationalist leader to be read at an event, made people think they were not strongly against Hindu nationalism.
The party will now discuss these findings in a meeting in September.
