AI boom worsens UK youth unemployment to decade high

In the UK, it is getting harder for young people to find their first jobs.

The number of young people without jobs has gone up to 16.4%, which is the highest in ten years.

This is happening faster in the UK than in other rich countries.

One big reason is that computers and artificial intelligence, called AI, can now do many simple jobs that young people used to do.

Because of this, companies are hiring fewer new workers.

The government is trying to help by giving money to companies that hire young people.

Some young people are taking unpaid work or jobs that are not as good as their education.

One young person even suggested that graduates should give some of their future pay to companies that hire them.

This shows how worried young people are about finding work.
